In News Release IR-2021-67 the Internal Revenue Service announced that individuals have until May 17, 2021 to meet certain deadlines that would normally fall on April 15. This confirms that individuals have until May 17, 2021 to make IRA, HSA, and Coverdell education savings account contributions for tax year 2020. The guidance also announced that IRA/HSA/ESA providers have until June 30, 2021 to file 2020 Form 5498 series information returns with the IRS and to provide annual account statements to account owners/beneficiaries.
