On March 18, 2020, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published Mortgagee Letter 2020-04 regarding guidance for foreclosures and evictions in connection with Coronavirus COVID-19. Mortgagee Letter 2020-04 informs mortgagees of a foreclosure moratorium for all Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-insured single family mortgages for a period of 60 days. The guidance communicated in Mortgagee Letter 2020-04 applies to all FHA Title II Single Family forward and Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (reverse) mortgage programs and is effective immediately.
