CCPA and Privacy Legislation Information

In June 2018, the CCPA was signed into law and went into effect on January 1, 2020 becoming the most sweeping data privacy rights law to be enacted in the United States. The California Attorney General began enforcing the CCPA on July 1, 2020.

Comments to the proposed changes were accepted until October 28, 2020.

On November 3, 2020, California voters approved the statute initiative, California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA). The CPRA would go into effect on January 1, 2023.
