2/20/08 Federal Reserve Board Consolidation of Check Processing Centers
In November, 2003, the Federal Reserve Board began the process of consolidating check processing centers. Ultimately, only four check processing centers will remain: Atlanta, GA; Cleveland, OH; Philadelphia, PA; and Dallas, TX. The Federal Reserve Board expects to have this process completed by early 2011.
Because the changes are scheduled to happen throughout the year at various intervals, CSi recommends that you use the “Override” feature available in CLS-CC. This feature allows you to override the predetermined selection of routing numbers. If your check processing center is being impacted by the current consolidations, it is critical that you use this feature to override the routing numbers for your Federal Reserve District.
