CSi Simplicity is a web-based solution that mitigates transaction risk. It allows financial institutions to easily configure and control language that precisely defines their policy decisions and product definitions for consistent, compliant transactions. Depending on your Platform provider or LOS provider, CSi Simplicity also allows your institution to customize data and language that is used throughout the CSi document library.
CSi Simplicity is a completely new component that your institution has not previously licensed. Any fees you previously paid in association with CLS are for CLS only. The one-time conversion training fee for CSi Simplicity covers all training costs associated with your institution’s 60-day access to the CSi University Learning Portal, CLS data conversion feature costs, and support for your institution during the conversion process.
CSi Simplicity is significantly different from CLS, and those differences represent important strides forward for your financial institution in terms of configurability, data security, and risk management. In addition, your institution will see a reduction in overhead expenses related to the maintenance of a Windows XP machine and the manual installation of CLS updates. These cost savings will more than offset the conversion training fee from the first day you use CSi Simplicity.
Because CSi Simplicity is a new component of CSi’s Transaction Risk Management Solution, you will need to sign a new End User License Agreement (EULA). The new EULA is similar to the one you already have in place with CSi, but is modified to make the necessary changes related to the addition of CSi Simplicity and the removal of CLS. When you convert to CSi Simplicity, you license the right to use the component in accordance with the EULA. Along with the updated EULA, you are also receiving CSi’s 2014 Compliance Warranty.
Over the years, CLS has served the industry well. It has been, and continues to be, the industry leader in the creation and maintenance of disclosures. CLS is now a mature software tool that can no longer evolve to meet the technology requirements of the industry. It is dependent on the Windows XP operating system, and Microsoft is ending its support for Windows XP. It’s no secret that CSi values innovation and is constantly striving to provide the highest quality compliance solutions. To address current technology requirements and to satisfy your product enhancement requests, a conversion to CSi Simplicity is necessary.
CSi will discontinue support of CLS based on recommendations from the Federal Financial Institution Examination Council (FFIEC) regarding the end of Microsoft’s support for Windows XP. CLS currently depends on the use of the Windows XP operating system and must operate in 16- or 32-bit environments. Microsoft’s end of support for Windows XP means that this operating system will no longer receive security patches from Microsoft as new threats are identified. Your continued use of CLS beyond Microsoft’s end of support may expose your institution to potential security risks.
CSi Simplicity eliminates current CLS compatibility issues with 64-bit operating systems. This is particularly vital in light of the FFIEC’s October 7, 2013 Joint Statement re: End of Microsoft support for Windows XP Operating System. (The statement is available online at http://ithandbook.ffiec.gov/reference-materials.aspx.)
Because of Microsoft’s decision to discontinue support for the XP operating system and the FFIEC’s October 7, 2013 Joint Statement regarding the end of XP support (http://ithandbook.ffiec.gov/reference-materials.aspx), there is a sense of urgency to ensure you are operating in the most secure environment possible. With that in mind, CSi encourages institutions to complete the conversion process within 60 days from your receipt of the CSi Simplicity Welcome Package.
CSi Simplicity includes specialized functionality for institutions that previously licensed CLS. That functionality imports your CLS content and converts it into CSi Simplicity’s format. You can import all of your CLS disclosure content in a single batch action. CSi Simplicity will automatically create the appropriate data sets for you and automatically avoids issues related to redundant data imports.
CSi Simplicity's Features
While the CSi Simplicity functionality available to you will depend on your Platform provider or LOS provider as well as your own institution license key, all institutions will:
- Access easy-to-use, easy-to-learn data configuration workflows. CSi Simplicity lets you easily create and resume work on your customized content. Data collection workflows are intuitively structured and provide on-the-spot previews of document sections so you can evaluate the impact of your decisions as you configure the data. If you see unintended side effects, you can instantly make adjustments.
- Rest assured that content configurations pass appropriate transaction analysis and compliance validations. CSi Simplicity’s data collection workflows are structured so that any piece of data required by federal regulation or state law must be supplied. The workflows take into account specific conditions specified by your institution so that you only work with data that is relevant. Additional certification safeguards always give your institution that final power in determining when data is ready for transaction use.
- Take advantage of a web-based software application. CSi Simplicity is not installed on any workstation at your institution. That means you never have to worry about operating system requirements, downloading software updates, or working with out-of-date technology. CSi Simplicity will always be up-to-date and ready for your use. All you need is a web browser like Internet Explorer.
- Protect and secure data with authenticated access and flexible, permissions-based user roles. You always know who has modified your content, and when, through password-protected access rights. Users can only work with the content that they have been given permission to use by your financial institution.
