The National Mortgage Database will include information spanning the life of mortgage loans and will include a variety of borrower characteristics. The database will include loan-level information about mortgages such as the borrower’s financial and credit profile, mortgage product and terms, the property purchased or refinanced and ongoing payment history. The database will not contain personally identifiable information and the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) have committed to taking appropriate precautions to ensure that individual consumers cannot be identified through the database. An early version of the database is expected to deploy in 2013.
